HUNTSVILLE, AL – Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (Yorktown) announces the selection of Mary Busby as the Employee of the 4th Quarter 2018. Mary Busby serves as the Contracts Manager for Yorktown’s wholly owned subsidiary, The Unconventional – LLC (TU). Mary joined Yorktown in April 2018, and it was immediately obvious that she would be a great addition to our team. She has developed contracting systems dealing with international contract offices in eight different countries around the globe.

Mary remains flexible to all management requests, school requests, and employee requests with an incredibly positive attitude. She has created an accountability process for all Live Environment Training (LET) and Isolation Immersion (ISO) course reporting documents, and she has taken the responsibility of receiving, reviewing, and filing those documents. Despite TU operating globally across multiple time zones, Mary remains available and prepared to assist at a moment’s notice day or night. She has truly shown her ability for adapting to rapidly evolving requirements and providing outstanding service to her customers. She is always happy and smiling, and her infectious energy and genuine love of life make her a joy to work with! Mary creates each Purchase Order and follows it through all the way to wire transfer completion. She remains in contact with every customer and PM throughout the process to ensure everyone stays informed.

Huntsville, AL – The Unconventional, LLC. begins operations as wholly-owned subsidiary under Yorktown Systems Group (Yorktown).

The company name, “The Unconventional,” is the essence of why the company was created to uniquely complete our customer’s missions and requirements using unconventional methodologies. Our experienced leadership and team provide perspectives and solutions from the fusion of military, academic, and industry experience. The Unconventional possesses over 12 years’ experience in Language Program Management, Talent Acquisition, Traditional Language, Culture, Regional Expertise delivery in both brick and mortar classrooms, online classrooms, Live Environment Training (LET), and Isolation Immersion Training (ISO-immersion).

Our team plans, tailors, and executes the most unconventional and effective delivery of language, culture, and regional expertise training in the industry. Our approach to training allows students to interact with native speakers in the target language in a functional, real-life, environment while completing task-based activities outside of the traditional classroom environment for both our ISOimmersions and LETs.

Our two key capability areas are LET and ISO-immersion. LET is a language and cultural immersion training program conducted in a host nation to support intermediate to advanced language students. The training focuses on the student’s ability to listen to and understand native dialects and conversations in the target language using participatory learning. ISO-immersion is a type of language training program conducted in an immersive environment for a specific language. These ISOimmersions are conducted in areas where the target language is used daily. The goal for these ISOimmersions is for students to be exposed to, implement, and use mission specific language and vocabulary in an isolated, immersive, and realistic environment. Training focuses on the student’s mission language ability to listen to and understand native dialects and conversations in a target language using participatory listening. Focus is also given to the student’s ability to speak fluidly and comprehensively in the target language and to be understandable by native speakers.
