President and Founder
Mark Saichompoo is a retired Master Sergeant who served over 26 years in the Ordnance Corps, Infantry, and Special Forces. He has experience in numerous leadership and management positions in the military, academia, and civilian sectors. After retiring from the military Mark was the Manager of Field Operations and Business Development and later promoted to Deputy Director for the Defense Critical Language and Culture Program at the University of Montana. Mark also served as the SOCOM CL-150 Project Manager for Transparent Language.
Mark is the President and founder of The Unconventional, which was created in 2016 and has been providing language services to the SOCOM community at large. The Unconventional has had great success in providing quality Isolation Immersion (ISO) and overseas Live Environment Training (LET). Mark’s experience of over 18 years as a Special Forces Soldier, 7 years as a Special Forces Command Language Program Manager, and over 2 years in academic leadership yield a seasoned operator's perspective and knowledge of delivering language, culture, regional training, capabilities, and program management. The Unconventional is striving to reach new levels in partnering and learning from the experience and success of Yorktown Systems Group as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
LET Project Manager
Scott Tsuda is a retired Sergeant Major with 32 years of service in the U.S. Army. During his time in service he has held multiple leadership positions in the Special Operations Forces which included; Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (SFODA) Operations Sergeant, Chief Instructor John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Training Center and School, Special Forces Company Sergeant Major, Battalion Operations Sergeant Major, and Senior Enlisted Advisor Special Operations Command Pacific.
After military retirement Scott continue work as an Sales Representative for Silencerco the largest firearms silencer manufacturer in the U.S.A.
Scott now joins The Unconventional as a Live Environment Training Program Manager.
LET Project Manager
Henry (Hank) Jessop originally from American Samoa is a retired United States Army, Special Forces Chief Warrant Officer that has over 28 years of service. He has held numerous leadership and management positions with 1st Special Forces Group-Fort Lewis, Washington, 1-1st Special Forces Group-Okinawa Japan, and United States Army Special Operations Command-Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The highlights of his career were combat tours in support of Operation Uphold Democracy-Haiti, Operation Iraqi Freedom-Iraq, Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines, and Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan. His awards include Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantry man’s Badge, and Jump Master Badge. After retiring from the Army, Hank continued his service for another 6.5 years as the civilian deputy chief of the Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) Division for Special Operations Command Pacific-Hawaii (SOCPAC). Hank supervised and managed 14 joint field grade officers, non-commissioned officers, General Schedule (GS) and contract employees in four TSC sub-divisions. Key focus areas are Build Partner Capacity (BPC) in 7 Pacific Command (PACOM) Countries, Global Force Management (GFM) in 19 PACOM Countries, Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) in 29 PACOM Countries, and Global Special Operations Sync overall. Hank has an Associate’s Degree from Defense Language Institute and a Bachelor’s degree from Excelsior University.
Hank now joins The Unconventional as a Live Environment Training Program Manager.
ISO-Immersion Project Manager
Tyler Saichompoo was a honor graduate from Timberline Senior High School and is continuing his education through Oregon State University pursuing a B.A. Business Administration.
Tyler is an Isolation Immersion Program Manager and has been with The Unconventional since October 2016. Tyler helped pioneer our Isolation Immersion platforms across the country from the beginning.
ISO-Immersion Project Manager
Zakkary Saichompoo is a former Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician that served six years in the United States Army. He has experience in numerous leadership and management positions in the military and civilian sectors. Zakkary has worked hand and hand with a vast group of agencies such as the Secret Service, FBI, ATF, DEA, Homeland Security, U.S. Special Forces Green Berets, U.S. Navy Seals, Rangers, and many others. After finishing his service in the military Zakkary worked as an Unexploded Ordnance Technician removing hazardous explosive items from commissioned and decommissioned ranges.
In 2017 he began working for The Unconventional as an Isolation Immersion Project Manager providing language services to the SOCOM community.
PMO Manager and TU Liaison
Bobby has been serving the U.S. Army for nearly 30 years as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, Department of the Army Civilian, and contractor. Before his retirement in 2011, he served in multiple positions within Special Operations, Airborne, and Stryker units. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and multiple Operation Iraqi Freedom tours.
Upon retiring, Bobby served in multiple instructional and leadership roles within the U.S. Army SERE School at Ft. Rucker, AL. This paved the way for his next assignment as a Training and Doctrine developer as both SERE and PR Subject Matter Expert at the U.S. Army Personnel Recovery Proponent, Combined Arms Center, Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He served in this role as a contractor for Yorktown Systems Group and later as a DA Civilian. He then returned to Alabama as a Quality Assurance Specialist for Yorktown Systems Group.
His experience, both in and out of the Army has led to his most recent role as the Project Management Office Manager and liaison for The Unconventional LLC in Huntsville, AL.
Bobby holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Project Management from Bellevue University. Some of his military awards include two Bronze Stars, two Meritorious Service Medals and he is a member of the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharp. He has also earned the Parachutist, Air Assault, and Pathfinder Badges.
